Cycle to Cannes makes £40k donation to LandAid Print E-mail
Sunand Prasad presenting Julian Smyth with chequeCycle to Cannes (C2C), the property event which saw over fifty budding Lance Armstrongs riding the 900+ miles from Calais to Cannes for MIPIM 2007, has made a magnificent £40,000 donation to LandAid from the sponsorship raised this year.

At a ceremony held at the offices of Linklaters in the City, RIBA president-elect and C2C rider Sunand Prasad presented LandAid Chief Executive Julian Smyth with a cheque. The ceremony, attended by many of the riders as well as sponsors, organisers and charity recipients, heard brieifings from the four benefitting charities as to where the money raised would be spent.
The LandAid donation will be put towards its innovative Foundations for Life project, a partnership with Centrepoint which aims to give over 8,000 young homeless people the relevant life, education and employment skills necessary for them to break free from the cycle of dependancy in which so many of them are trapped.

Registration is now open for the 2008 C2C challenge and competition is expected to be fierce as the event has definitely gained a momentum all of its own.
