This year LandAid has given £25,172 to the Marylebone Project to enable them to build four new bedrooms at their existing premises for the benefit of women experiencing a housing crisis.

A presentation was made on behalf of LandAid by Rob Bould, trustee and chairman of GVA Grimley’s Capital Markets Group, to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President of the Marylebone Project, who accepted a cheque for over £25,000.

The core aims of the Marylebone Project are to resettle women into independent housing, provide access to education, and help secure paid employment. Every day, women aged between 18 and 59 enter the project for a variety of reasons – including domestic violence, financial crisis, sexual exploitation, and mental health issues. The Marylebone Project is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

On making the presentation to Nobel Peace Laureate, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rob Bould said: “It was a real honour and a privilege to meet one the world’s best known humanitarians and to represent the property industry in making this donation.  The Marylebone Project is an excellent cause, and this injection of funds will make a real difference to the lives of homeless women.”
