2011


• LandAid celebrates its 25th birthday!

• 50 Foundation Partners participating by December 2011.

• LandAid’s Annual Grants programme inundated with over 400 applications.

• £1 million committed to projects across the country including new ones in Liverpool, Sunderland and Dundee.

• 10th and final Party Near The Park.

2010


 

• Launch of a new flagship learning centre in Hackney run by leading youth charity Fairbridge, made possible with a lead gift of £50k from LandAid, to provide activities and services to more than 200 young people.

• Work completed on a new centre in Birmingham with youth agency, St Basil’s which will benefit over 20 young residents by providing a dedicated learning and training space.

• 39 Foundation Partners now participating.

• First LandAid Day – 15th October 2010.

2009


• 24 companies from within the property industry back LandAid by becoming Foundations Partners, each pledging £10,000 over three years.

• A fifth Foundations for Life (FFL) learning hub is finished in Central London.

• A new FFL location is identified in Birmingham through the youth agency, St Basil’s. The new hub will benefit 40 young residents by providing a dedicated learning space where they can study for City and Guilds accredited qualifications.


2008


• The first four Foundations for Life hubs are completed and provide bright airy leaning spaces with new computers, teaching kitchens and specialist staff. The young residents can now use the facilities to learn new skills and gain recognised qualifications.

• Robin Broadhurst CBE, is welcomed on board as LandAid Chairman. He is also Chairman of Grainger PLC and a Trustee of the Grosvenor Trusts.


2007


• LandAid launches ‘Foundations for Life’ a project in partnership with the leading young homelessness charity, Centrepoint. Fully resourced learning centres will be created throughout Centrepoint services where young people can learn the skills they need to transform their lives and live independently.


2005


• LandAid celebrates its 20th Anniversary by moving in with the British Property Federation and a permanent LandAid office is established.
• This is made possible through seedcorn funding from; SEGRO, British Land, Hammerson, Helical Bar, Land Securities and Liberty International.


2003


• Mike Slade the charismatic Managing Director of Helical Bar becomes LandAid President, taking over from Clive Lewis.


1999


• Fourteen people volunteer to climb Mount Kenya and raise £25,000.


1998


• Twelve intrepid volunteers trek 100km along the Great Wall of China.


1994


• LandAid helps establish the Empty Homes Agency with a donation of £50,000.


1988


• HRH Prince Edward attends the LandAid Ball that raises £90,000 for Centrepoint and Childhope.


1987


• LandAid organises the official ball for the international year of Shelter for the Homeless.


1986


• The first ever LandAid Fun Run is organised around Richmond Park, raising almost £40,000 to send a famine relief truck to Sudan.

• LandAid donates money raised by the first LandAid Ball to Centrepoint, this would mark the beginning of a relationship with the leading young homelessness charity that continues today!


1985


• Inspired by Sir Bob Geldoff’s ‘LiveAid’ a group of young surveyors conceive the idea of LandAid.
