LandAid is supporting local charity Four Square to provide accommodation, support and training to young people who are homeless in Edinburgh.
In 2011 a LandAid grant of £10,000 was awarded for the first year of Four Square's SUSS IT tenancy course. This innovative course is for homeless young people in the city, and for residents of Four Square's hostels. It supports young people to learn to live independently and as responsible tenants, and offers SQA accredited employability skills. In 2013, a second grant of £10,000 followed to expand the course.
In 2014 LandAid funding of £30,000, matched by £30,000 from the St. James's Place Foundation, was awarded for refurbishments at Four Square’s Stopover hostel for young people at risk of homelessness. The £60,000 joint grant is funding much needed new bathrooms, kitchens and communal areas at the hostel.
Join us at the official opening of the newly refurbished cafe on Wednesday 17 February 2016 15:00-16:00 by emailing Elise Austin today.
Charity visits are a great way for LandAid supporters to see first hand the fantastic work our charity partners do, and the lasting impact their generosity can have. Visits normally take 1-2 hours and are completely free to attend.
