Do you have what it takes to conquer the Broadgate Tower?
For the third year running LandAid and the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors bring you an endurance event with a difference. In teams of three you'll take on a series of tasks to test your strength, speed and nerves of steel: one team member will race up the 977 stairs of Broadgate Tower, one will experience a vertigo-inducing abseil off the roof and the third will endure a fast and furious cycle sprint on the plaza below.
Pit your wits against your property peers whilst helping to raise £80,000 for new accommodation for young homeless Londoners in the City.
The London TowerAthlon is kindly sponsored by Oyster Partnership.
Entry for the London TowerAthlon costs just £150 per team of three.
You can also enter as an individual for the abseil or the tower run. Abseil places cost £90 and tower run places cost £50.
We're asking each team of three to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship. Or if you're doing the individual tower run or abseil, we're asking you to raise £200. All funds raised from the event will go to City YMCA London to help create new accommodation for 195 young people a year in the City of London. And, if you need some fundraising ideas to help you hit your target, check out our toolkit.
To start collecting sponsorship, simply set up a fundraising page with MyDonate.
Prizes are on offer for the fastest tower runner, fastest cyclist, fastest team and best fundraiser.
Your safety is very important to us. If the weather is bad on the day, particularly if winds are high, our specialist abseil team will assess whether it is safe to abseil. If the decision is made to cancel the abseil due to safety concerns, a slot on the Tower Run will be offered instead. No refunds will be made in this circumstance.
Trophy sponsors: Grosvenor (sponsoring the Best Team Fundraising trophy), HOBS Studio (sponsoring the Winning Team trophy), Paragon Building Consultancy (sponsoring the Best Cyclist trophy), Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (sponsoring the Best Fancy Dress trophy), Daniel & Company (sponsoring the Fastest Male Veteran Tower Runner (45+) trophy) and Savills Healthcare (sponsoring the Furthest Cycling Female trophy).
Thanks as well to Reed Smith for hosting the prize-giving drinks reception.
