Hansteen Holdings PLC, the European commercial property REIT, was established by Ian Watson and Morgan Jones to take advantage of opportunities in industrial investment property in Europe.
Since its admission to AIM in 2005, Hansteen has carefully assembled an investment property portfolio valued around £728 million across Europe in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and more recently the UK. Comprising some 1.8 million sq m of space with over 1,700 tenants, the portfolio is characterised by low capital values and rents, a high current yield of over 8% and a reversionary yield of 10%, reflecting the potential to add value. In August 2009 Hansteen Holdings launched Hansteen Property Unit Trust (HPUT) with £90 million of equity to invest in the UK.
Hansteen's operations are carried out through a focused and experienced in-house team assisted by a number of professional property advisers and associates located in each of the countries in which it invests.
The Company moved to the Official List of the LSE in October 2009 and converted to a REIT soon after. It is a member of the FTSE 250.
