1. Choose a fundraising idea
Here are a few to get you started;
- London Marathon
- Cycle to Cannes
- London Triathlon
- Shaving your head
- Great North Run
- Instead of birthday presents
- New York Marathon
- An overseas challenge
- Cycling
- Sailing
2. Set up an online sponsorship page
Creating a JustGiving page is easy and shouldn't take longer than five minutes. JustGiving is a website that collects sponsorship online. It's quick, safe and secure. It also reduces our administration time as it collects GiftAid on our behalf, the money you raise is automatically transferred to LandAid's bank account.

3. Promote your page!
Take a look at our practical hints and tips below to get you started.
- Create your JustGiving page with information about why you are fundraising for LandAid and why supporting us is important to you. Remember to include photos of yourself!
- Put a LandAid video on your JustGiving page - you can find them on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/LandAidTrust - Sponsors love to see as much information as possible and pages with videos raise more.
- Let everyone on Facebook know. Copy your JustGiving page web address into the ‘What’s on your mind?’ box at the top of your News Feed or Profile and Facebook will automatically pull in the first photo from your page. You can add a few words about what you are doing. This will then go to all your friends’ new feeds, prompting them to donate.
- Put your JustGiving page address in your email signature – check www.justgiving.com/help for instructions.
- Spread the word on Twitter to share your story and JustGiving page with other fundraisers and sponsors.
- Ask your company if they’ll match what you raise, or advertise your JustGiving page on the company website or intranet.
- Remember that on average, 20% of donations are received after the event date so remember to send your page to everyone again once you have completed your challenge. Add some extra content to your JustGiving page, like photos from the day or gruelling details about how hard it was.
