LandAid are proud to announce that GVA Grimley will be the new Fun Run sponsor until 2010!
We would like to thank GVA for their continued enthusiasm and support for LandAid.
This year's run promises to be bigger and better than ever before. As usual there will be trophies and champagne up for grabs to the winning teams. There will also be a new prize category for the best outfit so make some effort!
All runners and volunteers will recieve a complimentary meal, t-shirt and bottle water. This year's cuisine will be a choice of a hearty 'Cumberland sausage roll with caramelized onions' or a tempting 'char-grilled mediteranean vegetables in a pesto pita pocket '.

On 11 January 2008, as many surveyors across the UK recover from festive overindulgence and ease back in to the office, two boy racers will be departing Plymouth to take part in a rally to Timbuktu in order to raise funds for LandAid’s Foundations for Life project.
Described as the “wacky races meets scrapheap challenge”, the Plymouth-Dakar rally has, for five years, been the embarrassing poor relation of the bona-fide championship event, the Paris-Dakar Rally. For the potty Plymouth version, which raises funds for charity, performance vehicles are substituted for bashed-up bangers (which must be purchased for under £100) and the entourage of support teams and film crews are substituted for absolutely nothing, in the 3000 mile, 22 day scramble to Africa.

On September 16th GVA Grimley employees, Ric Tsang, Bruce Allan, Jared Thompson, James Frost, Tony Anderton and Dion Stocks, collectively known as Team Tandemonium set off from Leeds in a tandem cycle rally. Their destination was Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire and they raised over £1000 in sponsorship getting there.
Land Aid would like to thank the team for choosing us as their beneficiary charity and everyone who supported them!

Earlier this summer 27 property companies took to the water down at Cowes for the Anglo Irish Bank Regatta in association with Property Week.
The event raised £25,000 and we are delighted to be the chosen beneficiary. At a ceremony held at Mosimann’s Club in Belgravia, Brian Linehan the Director of Banking UK for Anglo Irish Bank and Jason Ludlow the event organizer and a director of Events Management Group presented LandAid President Mike Slade with a cheque.
The Regatta consisted of five races; points were accrued according to finishing places. Each team had its own yacht and most importantly its own professional skipper. Unfortunately this guidance was not enough to prevent Howard Holdings from ploughing their Beneteau 40.7 yacht in to the marina wall! Helical Bar fielded a purely female team but they were no match for Spark Europe who took the winner’s title after a consistent performance.
LandAid would like to thank Anglo Irish Bank and Property Week for choosing us as their beneficiary, everybody who helped organize the event including Jason Ludlow, Rory Heron, Claire Armstrong and Juliet Edwards, the sponsors and most importantly all the teams that took part!
If you would like to field a team for next year’s regatta, support LandAid and have some great fun please have a look at the Anglo Irish Bank Regatta website as registration has already begun!
