A group of volunteers from Allsop, LandAid’s latest Foundation Partner teamed up with Grainger plc to volunteer at a Centrepoint hostel in Camberwell.
The team worked hard to completely transform the drab garden and patio area in just one day. Now homeless young people living at the hostel will be able to grow their own vegetables and they also have a bright new outdoor seating area too.
Allsop volunteer, Kate Moxey said “This was a great opportunity to help make a difference for a good cause and at the same time entertain clients in an unusual way. The team worked really hard but it was really good fun and the feedback from everyone was very positive.”
Emma West, Centrepoint service leader said “We would like to say a huge thanks to Allsop and LandAid for transforming this space to provide the 80 homeless young people that live at Centrepoint Camberwell Foyer with an area they can feel at home in. Everyday you now see staff and young people together enjoying the garden, and taking turns in watering the vegetable patch. It has totally re-energised the service.”
