A quartet with long-standing links to accountancy giant Ernst & Young won 2009’s own `Stars in their Eyes’ `Party Near the Park’ in London last night.Singing Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 1970s rock classic `Sweet Home Alabama’, Graham Protheroe, Andrew Ovey, Will Elgood and Craig Hughes won the text vote in front of 600 people at the Old Billingsgate Market event. Proceeds from `Party Near the Park’ go to LandAid, whose president Mike Slade co-hosted the evening with Knight Frank commercial chief Alastair Elliott. Cushman & Wakefield’s David Erwin and CB Richard Ellis’s Stewart Colderick, singing Stealers Wheel’s `Stuck in the Middle with you’, came second. BPF chief executive Liz Peace, representing Land Aid, also had a strong following after a knockout performance of `Cabaret’.
