LandAid Raises £5,300 for Chartered Surveyors Training Trust's New Mentoring Scheme

This week LandAid donated £5,300 to the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust (CSTT), a charity that helps young people from challenging and diverse backgrounds become chartered surveyors.

Rob Bould a Trustee from LandAid and member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors presented the cheque to Roger Southam, Chairman of the CSTT and Chief Executive of property management company Chainbow.

The money was raised through a successful classical concert LandAid held at Christ Church in Spitalfields in association with the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors.  The concert attracted a number of property professionals connected with the Livery who were keen to see the talented students of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama perform.

The donation will help the CSTT establish a new mentoring scheme that will benefit its current and future apprentices.  The scheme is being developed in partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors and the College of Estate Management.   Trainees who meet the rigorous criteria will be placed with an approved employer and work their way towards RICS membership.  Mentors will be young newly qualified surveyors introduced by these key partners who will provide both online and face-to-face support.

Rob Bould, Trustee to LandAid and Chairman to the National Charities Committee at GVA Grimley comments: “We’re delighted to make this donation to the CSTT, an organisation LandAid strongly endorses and believes in. Thanks to the support we receive from within the industry we can look forward to further sustained investment in people’s futures.”

Roger Southam, Chairman of the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust comments: “Thanks to LandAid’s ardent support and generous donation we are now in a position to progress with a mentoring scheme that will further strengthen our wider programme to provide underprivileged people with a genuine chance to make a better life for themselves.”
