The great and the good of the property industry proved they had the X-Factor at Party Near the Park, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland on Thursday night (5th June).
A host of industry stars lined up at the beach party themed extravaganza at Old Billingsgate Fish Market in the City of London. Over 1,000 people attended the event, which has gained a reputation as one of the wildest nights in the industry’s social calendar, raising an anticipated £130,000.
The main event of the evening was the eagerly anticipated ‘battle of the bands’. Competition between the ten acts was fierce but Hendersons managed to see off it’s rivals and win the night with a spectacular version of the Copacabana.
Old Billingsgate Market was transformed into a Caribbean beach for the evening, complete with summer cocktails, live steel band, limbo dancers and a surf simulator for those guests of a more daring disposition. A late night disco kept the party in full swing until the small hours.
RBS, the main sponsor for Party Near the Park, fully entered into the spirit of the event, with Director of the Real Estate Finance Group David Mill belting out an unforgettable rendition of Ricky Martin’s ‘Livin La Vida Loca’.
Suzanne Avery, Managing Director of the Real Estate Finance Group at RBS, said:
"We are very pleased to be the principle sponsor of this year’s Party Near the Park. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the year in style. As the charity of the UK property sector, LandAid has provided valuable support to many projects connected with homelessness. We wish them every success in their fundraising endeavours for the evening and look forward to a fun and unique London beach party!”"
LandAid Event Manager, Annette Sanders, said:
“Party Near the Park is one of our most popular events. It’s a great opportunity for the property industry to really let its hair down with a night of rock and roll! Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from our sponsors, without whom the event would not be possible."
LandAid would like to thank all the sponsors, eveyone who attended and the production crew.
