Robert Packs a Property Punch! | Print |  E-mail

robet-rose-cheque.jpgEarlier this summer, GVA Grimley’s Robert Rose stepped into the ring at The Brewery in The City to pack a punch at Square Up in the City and raise money for LandAid.

An audience of over 500 people watched the event and Rob was one of 14 fighters bobbing and weaving in the ring to beat the £80,000 raised at the event last year.

Rob had been intensively training at the Cityboxer gym in Southwark for the 12 weeks before the big bout and perfected his ‘one-two combos’ which have likened to the technique of Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton.

Unfortunately Rob’s power punches didn’t quite earn him the title, but did help him raise over £5,000.

Rob said of his fight, “After all this training, I was well prepared for anything that came my way in the ring. I am looking forward to my next fight and can smell an upset.”

"On a serious note though, we mustn’t forget why the fourteen of us stepped into the ring. Last year a great deal of money was raised and I wanted to do my bit. LandAid is a very worthwhile cause and I am glad I was able to raise a good amount of money with out breaking bones!”.
