Type: Annual Grant AwardHaven House Project is a refuge for homeless women who are fleeing domestic abuse. Fifty women and their children are in residence each year and the project provides support for them and women who want to leave an abusive partner. Haven House has been coping without an interview room but with a grant from LandAid for £5,500 they can convert their old pantry. Having a private space where sensitive and emotional issues can be discussed is essential in building up trust between the project staff and women entering the hostel. |
