The Genesis Trust in Bath runs nine projects that help people with the problems associated with very low incomes such as poor housing, loneliness, homelessness and unemployment. Their projects include a soup run seven nights a week, lunches, advice and life skills courses.

LandAid’s grant of £5,000 will fund their lifeskills project. The project helps those who have been homeless and unemployed for a long time, by increasing their confidence and giving them the skills they need to work again. The Lifeskills team run IT courses helping people set up email accounts and applying online for jobs. They give one to one advice to clients including help with form filling, debt counselling and liaising with other services. They also run activities such as cooking sessions and trips to the city farm.
