Chief Executive
Joanna is a town planner who has worked across all aspects of the regeneration and development industry as a consultant, researcher, client and government adviser. She is an expert in urban policy and practitioner.
Joanna was most recently the interim CEO of Centre for Cities, an urban policy research institute, and has worked closely with Whitehall and local government on economic development and urban policy.
She was a founding Director of CABE where she set up and delivered the programme which provided technical support to local authorities and clients at the early stages of capital projects: schools, hospitals, housing, city centre master plans, strategic planning and public space. While at CABE she undertook two secondments; as Interim Director of Design of the Olympic Delivery Authority in 2005/6 and as part of the set up team for the Homes and Communities Agency in 2008.
Prior to CABE she worked in planning consultancy at EDAW and Llewelyn-Davies. Notably, she was heavily involved in the regeneration of Manchester City Centre in the 1990's. She is a Trustee of Centre for Cities and member of the RTPI.
