In Bristol, unemployment amongst 16-24 year olds is high. Many young people in the area have few opportunities and little sense of a personal future. Worryingly, anti-social behaviour and depression are on the rise.
St Werburghs City Farm, an inner city oasis in Bristol, runs holistic educational and practical services for young people, giving them the self-belief they need to thrive.
LandAid is proud to be supporting our first inner city farm with a grant of £102,231. The money will fund a new-build education and training centre, helping the organisation to expand its capacity and extend its services. 2,500 young people will be supported thanks to the new centre, which will include 3 fit-for-purpose classrooms, a training kitchen, a covered outdoor teaching space and three toilets.
Join our charity visit on Wednesday 3 February 2016 11:00-13:00pm by emailing Elise Austin today.
Charity visits are a great way for LandAid supporters to see first hand the fantastic work our charity partners do, and the lasting impact their generosity can have. Visits normally take 1-2 hours and are completely free to attend.
