LandAid Charity Visit: YES Brixham

Thursday, July 30, 2015 - 12:00 Torbay, Devon

According to official figures, Devon’s seaside resorts are among the poorest in the country.

YES Brixham promotes the health and well-being of young people and their families in Torbay. Offering advice and support through a variety of means, the centre helps disadvantaged young people in the town develop a greater sense of self-worth.

In 2013 LandAid provided YES Brixham with a grant of £30,000 towards the refurbishment and conversion of a chapel which forms the charity’s youth and community centre. This refurbishment included installing a heating system and creating space for counselling rooms and training workshops. The 15,000 visitors a year will all receive a warmer welcome when they drop into the centre.

Charity visits are a great way for LandAid supporters to see first hand the fantastic work our charity partners do, and the lasting impact their generosity can have. Visits normally take 1-2 hours and are completely free to attend.
