The London TowerAthlon 2015 - The Results!

Over 750 professionals from across the property and construction sectors led the charge for disadvantaged young people at yesterday’s LandAid Run sponsored by Bilfinger GVA.
The event, now in its 19th year, has become one of the property industry’s most popular sporting challenges with places for this year’s 10km run selling out in a record six weeks.
Personal bests were smashed and course records challenged on a day of good conditions and competitive spirit. In the men’s race Marc Leyshon of Wedlake Bell crossed the line first in a time of 34.40, closely followed by Tom Carpenter of Burges Salmon. Dwynwen Lewis of Trowers and Hamlins held on to her title from last year, winning the women’s event in 41.21.
Andrew Mercer of Capita was crowned fastest male over 40 with a time of 34.57 whilst Evelyn Mullins of Broadgate Estates took the title of fastest female in the same category, completing the course in 42.51. Special plaudits also go to Burges Salmon who were awarded the Fastest Team prize.
Other finishers included Alex Price, CEO of Palmer Capital, Kent Gardner, CEO of Evans Randall, and Paul Morrish, CEO of LandAid who completed his first ever 10km in 59.54.
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of the industry, LandAid has already raised over £50,000 of its £85,000 target. All donations will go towards supporting disadvantaged young people across the UK, giving them the hope of a more positive future. We are still accepting donations for the run, so please do keep fundraising!
We are looking for even more runners next year to smash this year's fundraising total. So if you are up for the challenge, and would like to be notified as soon as early bird tickets go on sale, email Robyn Phillips.
Paul Morrish, Chief Executive of LandAid, said: “I did the LandAid Summer Run. It was my first 10k and it really, really hurt! And it still does! But it’s looking to be our most successful LandAid Run ever. So, on behalf of all of us at LandAid, and the projects we support, a massive thank you to everyone who helped us raise money by running yesterday, and who may still be recovering!”
Rob Bould, Chief Executive of Bilfinger GVA and LandAid Trustee, said: “It’s fantastic to see so much enthusiasm for this year’s LandAid Summer Run and to have a record number of people signed up not only from Bilfinger GVA but a number of our peers as well. LandAid makes a real difference to so many young people’s lives across the country and we are delighted to provide our continued support and help achieve this year’s fundraising target.”
A big thank you to our headline sponsor Bilfinger GVA and our trophy sponsors The Association of Property Lenders, Burges Salmon, Evans Randall, Gerald Eve and Howard de Walden Estates. Thanks also to Estates Gazette for the media support, Property Week for helping us to market the event and to Roger Bool for the photos.
And of course thanks to everyone who took part - from regular runners to first timers, sprinters to walkers - your support helps us make a bigger difference to disadvantaged young lives.
