LandAid is calling on runners to take on property’s toughest 10K. The race, sponsored by St. Modwen, will take place on Friday 14 September in Longbridge, Birmingham. All funds raised will go towards the aim of ending youth homelessness in the Midlands.
The race, now in its second year, is property’s toughest 10K and calls on runners to compete on steep hills, rough terrain and a route that has formed part of the UK Athletics Cross Country Championships. Alongside the 10K race, there is a 5K option for runners who want a shorter challenge.
All funds raised from the LandAid Midlands 10K will help LandAid fund the renovation of 48 homes for young people who have been homeless in the Midlands. The homes consist of 24 one-bed flats and 24 studio apartments and will be managed by St Basils, the leading youth homelessness charity in Birmingham.
Last year, over 200 property runners competed in the inaugural LandAid Midlands 10K, including Richard Bannister, Regional Director at St. Modwen, Ashley Hancox, Executive Director at CBRE and Brian Baker, Chief Finance Officer at St Francis Group. Collectively, participants raised over £30,000 to provide safe accommodation for 18 young people at risk of homelessness through phase two of St Basils’ Live and Work’ scheme.
