COVID-19 has really impacted the mental health of the young people Manchester Settlement supports. Its key concern is the loneliness, poor mood and potential depression of its residents.
LandAid’s £3,696 grant will fund 14 internet packages for 12 months. This is a vital service, as it will keep its young people connected with their support networks.
This £17,400 phase two grant will enable Manchester Settlement to add an additional toilet and washing facilities into 3 shared houses such that there is less pressure upon the single bathrooms in each property.
Manchester Settlement provides supported accommodation for care leavers, in particular young people who are unaccompanied asylum seekers.
