LandAid’s Steptober challenge is returning for a third year, with registration opening today, Wednesday 26 August. The industry-wide challenge, powered by headline sponsor Logicor, will see teams of four property professionals from across the sector put their steps to good use to end youth homelessness for LandAid, the property industry charity, for the first two weeks of October.

Registration for this year’s event will opens today, Wednesday 26 August. Sign up here.

Registration is £100 per team, with a £50 individual fundraising target, or there is the option to pay the full £300.

LandAid would also like to thank its sector sponsors: EGi the Tech sponsor, Grainger the Investor Developers & Fund Manager sponsor, Hollis the Consultants & Agents sponsor, Michael Sparks Associates LLP the Architecture & Planning sponsor, and OakNorth Bank the Legal & Finance sponsor.

LandAid is inviting property professionals to step away from the screen during Steptober. The world has become a different place, and the future is still uncertain. Working from home can take its toll, therefore LandAid is encouraging the industry to take time away from the screen, enjoy the fresh air and breathe, all whilst getting their steps up and helping to end youth homelessness.

Last years’ event raised £101,421.69 and saw 576 property professionals from 47 companies taking part, including the highest fundraiser of the CEO Challenge David Sleath, Chief Executive of SEGRO, who raised a staggering £5,230 individually. Grainger Plc won the Highest Team Fundraiser Award, raising an incredible £3,177.80, which was enough to pay fore three new kitchens for young people.

Paul Morrish, Chief Executive, LandAid: “Steptober may look a little different this year, but it is set to  be bigger and better than ever with our new headline sponsor Logicor and sector sponsors EGi, Grainger, Hollis, Michael Sparks LLP and OakNorth Bank. Last years’ event saw nearly 600 property professionals stepping to end youth homelessness and walking the equivalent of four times around the world. This year we are looking forward to seeing those within different sectors of the property industry take part and join our mission to end youth homelessness.”

Michael Slattery, CEO, Logicor: “Logicor is proud to be the headline sponsor for this year’s Steptober event and support LandAid with their mission to end youth homelessness in the UK. Whilst many of us in the property industry are still working remotely it is important that people remain active to help maintain their health and wellbeing. We encourage the property industry to come together and participate in Steptober as this will help LandAid provide essential support and services to young homeless people across various local communities in the UK.”

Damian Wild, Editor in Chief, EGi said: “We’re excited to be sponsoring the Tech leaderboard for Steptober. It’s been a tough year and more than ever, it’s important that we get outside to take as many steps as possible to help improve our own wellbeing and, hopefully, that of those less fortunate than ourselves. That’s why we’re encouraging everyone in property’s burgeoning tech sector to step up and take on this challenge. Join the EG team in helping to raise as much money for young homeless people as possible.”

David McBride, Partner at Hollis said: “We’re excited to be sponsoring the Consultants & Agents leaderboard for Steptober. We all know how important the great outdoors is for our wellbeing, which is why we’re challenging other property consultants & agents to come and give #TeamHollis

Helen Gordon, Chief Executive, Grainger said: “Steptober is a great way for employees to connect, to look after our wellbeing and for the sector to come together and help LandAid end youth homelessness. Last year Grainger colleagues walked over 1 million steps and I am delighted that Grainger are sponsoring the investor, developer and fund manager leaderboard this year.”

Michael Sparks, Founder, Michael Sparks Associates said: “MSA are excited to be sponsoring the Architecture & Planning leaderboard for Steptober. Now more than ever, it’s important that we get outside to take as many steps as possible to help improve our wellbeing. That’s why we’re encouraging other professionals in Architecture and Planning to come and take us on, all in the spirit of raising some much needed funds for young homeless people.”

Ben Barbanel, Head of Debt Finance at OakNorth Bank said: “We are incredibly proud to once again be supporting LandAid and the terrific work it’s doing to end youth homelessness. COVID-19 has had a huge impact on young people – from employment and education, to health and wellbeing. With many families now under increased pressure, three out of every four councils across the UK have seen an increase in youth homelessness, so it’s vital that we all play our part in helping to eliminate it.”
