After a summer of crunching numbers, reviewing targets and drawing up graphs, LandAid can now proudly announce the launch of its 2013/14 Financial Review. A detailed summary of the charity’s performance over the 12 months from April 2013 to March 2014 can be found in the document below, but for starters, here’s a selection of our highlights:
In Fundraising, our number of partners continued to grow, with companies and organisations from across the property, construction and development world signing up to join our 100-strong network.
In October, LandAid Day’s Mission Possible extravaganza threw down the gauntlet for collective fundraising, bringing in a tremendous £140,000. Three further LandAid events followed suit, as the property industry ran laps of Regent’s Park, debated the UK’s infrastructure, partied amongst the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum and collected more cash than ever for LandAid.
Elsewhere, personal challenges were faced and conquered. 22 intrepid property leaders cycled the length of the country, 100 daredevils abseiled the Broadgate Tower and a team of hardy swimmers raced across the English Channel.
LandAid’s income at the end of 2013/14 stood at a mighty £1.7 million, almost half a million up on the previous year. Thanks to you – the height-scaling, cake-baking, treasure-hunting property industry – LandAid were able to help all the more disadvantaged young people receive the support they deserve.
Our Grants team also had a busy year, giving out over £1 million worth of funding to 25 charities across England, Scotland and Wales. Together, we helped get building projects off the ground and put equipment and staff where it was needed. You made our grants go even further by giving up your time and lending your property expertise - £108,000 worth of it, to be precise – to charity partners in need of free support.
That’s a huge amount of help you’ve given our projects over the past year. That’s thousands of young people who now have a safe place to live, a stable support network, the qualifications to succeed and the skills to move into work.
We’re shouting about all the fantastic feats of the property industry and the inspiring stories from our projects on our new website. With a lively logo and re-brand to match, LandAid is now able to communicate its cause and impact better than ever before.
Phew! What a year. We’ve achieved an awful lot in just 12 months, but we aren’t stopping there. 2014/15 has already seen a sold-out summer run, a party on London’s rooftops and the launch of our pro bono programme. And we’re busy gearing up for much more.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us accomplish our goals in 2013/14. We’re going to need your support again in 2014/15 to achieve all the great initiatives we have planned. To be a part of LandAid’s campaign this year, visit our website or get in touch today.
