Oasis Community Housing

Oasis Community Housing manages a variety of projects, from 24hr supported accommodation for vulnerable women and emergency beds for people who are sleeping rough to a support centre helping 900 people access housing. The charity aims to tackle homelessness, increase the independence and wellbeing of homeless people, and reduce the amount of young people offending and entering the criminal justice system.

Cost of the project

LandAid’s £70,000 grant is helping Oasis Community Housing to renovate 16-bed supported accommodation for young homeless women. The renovation will include kitchen refurbishment, two new kitchenettes, plastering and decorating throughout, extension of two small rooms and extension of communal facilities for more shared space.

A support worker creates an integrated care and support plan for each resident, covering all elements of ‘Every Child Matters’. The plan focuses on education, training, employment and participation in local community, alongside skills such as cooking, cleaning and communication.
