St Modwen’s relationship with LandAid began in 2012.
St Modwen has sponsored the LandAid Midlands 10K in 2017 and 2018. Last year’s race raised more than £24,000 to fund local youth homelessness charity St Basils to renovate 24 one-bed flats and 24 studio apartments for vulnerable young people.
St Modwen also entered four teams into a Cyclone 24-hour velodrome challenge, raising more than £23,000 for LandAid and completing 13,145 velodrome laps, an outstanding 3,286.25km. That’s the equivalent of cycling Lands End to Johns O’Groats twice and be a third of the way on the third leg too! One of the event organisers said: ‘St. Modwen had the most teams entered into the challenge, in fact the most any company has ever entered into any of our events! They also raised the most amount of money, again out of any companies or teams who have entered our challenges, in fact they raised nearly half of the overall sum raised at the Derby event.’
Rupert Wood, Property Director of Asset Management at St Modwen, is Chair of LandAid’s Midlands Board, and was instrumental in finalising details for the 2019 Midlands Supper Club event.
