Westminster House Youth Club in Nunhead, Southwark, provides homework help, IT facilities, activities, and the opportunity to achieve qualifications that enhance their young members’ chances to gain employment. Their 200+ members are affected by a range of problems, including high unemployment, crime, drugs, and violence.
The charity is considering constructing build-to-rent apartments on its site in order to increase its income. CBRE assisted Westminster House Youth Club with a right to daylight survey, design options and brief development to maximise their use of space.
Katie Worthington, Director at Westminster House Youth Club, says: “We are extremely grateful to CBRE. They started us along a path towards developing our building to make our space and reserves work more efficiently for us. They helped us to understand a number of the issues we would need to negotiate. They gave us some lovely plans which have informed our work going forward."
