Frustrating. Peculiar. Chaotic. Hard. Anxiety provoking. Unsafe. A time of change.
These are just some of the words used by Thelma, Jodie, Kayne, Marvin, Kristina, Archie, Ben, Emily and Simone – nine young people who have not only been battling a global pandemic but homelessness at the same time.
And they are not the only ones. Across the country there are over 100,00 young homeless people with thousands more hidden homeless (sleeping on sofas and moving between friends and family). For them, the last six months have been impossible.
Without the safety and security of a home. Without somewhere to isolate if they need. Many now without jobs. Unable to heat their homes. Unable to feed themselves. The pandemic has been impossible.
