Pro Bono Success Story : Justlife Charitable Foundation

Justlife Charitable Foundation runs services in both Manchester and Brighton and has become a leading organisation for researching, advocating for and working with vulnerable people living in temporary accommodation.

They provide one-to-one healthcare, housing and wellbeing support. And, although they have a roof over their head, the people Justlife work with are people experiencing homelessness, and need professional support to improve their chances of moving away from homelessness. Without support, many are at risk of falling into rough sleeping or worse.

Justlife approached LandAid with a dream to transform their Manchester Centre into a fit for purpose and environmentally friendly space, that would better enable them to welcome and support people who are experiencing homelessness.

We were delighted to broker support for the charity, both from KKS Savills (award-winning international independent design studio) and the wider Savills team.

Savills have now been working with Justlife for over two years, providing a range of services around design and planning. They will continue to support them with project management throughout the build and into the fit-out stages.

Carl Mitchell, Associate Director of KKS Savills, said: ‘This is a lovely scheme and we wanted to help Justlife make the most out of the space and ultimately make it work more effectively so that they can support the growing number of people in Manchester who are living in unsupported temporary accommodation. Projects like this give me real job satisfaction and working with Justlife has been a delight!’
