Aspire Oxford – COVID-19 Emergency Fund

Established in 2001, Aspire Oxford is an employment charity and social enterprise, supporting vulnerable and marginalised people to address their unique housing and employment needs across Oxford, areas of Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Cost of the project

£8,000

Location

Oxford, UK

Due to lockdown measures, Aspire Oxford saw an increase in the financial needs of its young people. One of its young people was evicted twice during the pandemic.

LandAid’s £8,000 grant helped the Aspire team provide direct financial assistance to their young people who were particularly vulnerable. The grant went to paying rent arrears which may have prevented a young person from securing permanent housing, as well as to cover materials to enable young people to engage in activities which will kept them active and well.
