GIPSIL – COVID-19 Emergency Fund

GIPSIL is a community-led organisation established in 1993 in response to the difficulties facing young people in the surrounding communities in East Leeds. GIPSIL primarily works with vulnerable young people providing housing-related support, counselling, welfare advice and support to access and sustain employment, education and training.

Cost of the project

£10,000

Location

Leeds, UK

As a result of COVID-19, many of the young people GIPSIL supports had been left isolated. Its vulnerable people needed people acquiring the essentials, such as food, sanitary and hygiene products.

LandAid’s £10,000 grant ensured the young people GIPSIL supports remained connected by providing the most appropriate resources for them, such as mobile phones and tablets. This also provided between 200-400 emergency packs of food, sanitary and hygiene products.
