St. George’s Crypt – COVID-19 Emergency Fund

St. George’s Crypt works with homeless and vulnerable adults and young people. The Crypt provides immediate support in terms of temporary emergency accommodation, three meals a day, clothing and shower facilities.

Cost of the project

£10,000

Location

Leeds, UK

St. George’s Crypt immediately changed the way its service was delivered due to COVID-19. Its health and well-being sessions were on hold indefinitely and its lunch service had to change in order to comply with social distancing rules. The most difficult challenge St. George’s Crypt faced was being able to continue support the 20 young men who are going through addiction recovery but could not attend therapeutic group sessions.

LandAid’s £10,000 grant went towards St, George’s Crypt cleaning services, which were essential to keeping their services running. This also covered personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and aprons to all staff and residents.
