Ambassador of the Month #13 – David Cowgill, Nicola Cox, Rebekah Donaldson, Liam Ridley, Nick Salkeld, Rachel Vickers and Daniel Walker

Last year we started a new Ambassador of the Month campaign, to further recognise the amazing work our Ambassadors are doing.

Each month we’ll select one Ambassador to speak to, asking them about their time at LandAid and highlighting something exceptional they’ve done.

Our past Ambassadors of the month have been: Anna Stewart from BNPPRE, Alexander Barnes and Joseph Round from Gerald Eve LLP, Kitty Kent from PwC, Sophie Walker from Gerald Eve LLP, Emma Murray from Palmer Capital, Laura Da Silva from Malcolm Hollis, Sarah Gunn from TFT Consultants, India Storey from Logicor UK, Bryony Jones and Jake Craig from Gerald Eve LLP, Owen Dutton from Eversheds Sutherland and Annabel Freeman, Guy Heilpern, Tom Newton and Jo Wilkinson from SEGRO and Sarah Gunn from TFT Consultants, Lindsay Iles from AWW UK, Luke Martin from JLL and Natasha Neale from Padmanor.

We’re really pleased to announce our thirteenth Ambassadors of the Month as David Cowgill from Schofield Sweeney, Nicola Cox from JLL, Rebekah Donaldson from Allsop, Liam Ridley from BNPPRE, Nick Salkeld from Fox Lloyd Jones Limited, Rachel Vickers from Lambert Smith Hampton and Daniel Walker from Gent Visick.

We selected them in part for their amazing efforts in arranging an amazing Yorkshire Ambassador Quiz in October, raising funds for LandAid, and for their general fantastic work shouting about our mission to end youth homelessness.

We asked them some questions about their time as LandAid Ambassadors so far. Check out their answers below.

Why did you get involved in the LandAid Ambassador programme?

The LandAid Ambassador programme is a great way to provide a positive contribution to a great cause through the property industry. Youth homelessness is a problem in the UK that must be tackled and together, within the property industry, we have various skills and contact bases that can really help those that can benefit from the support that LandAid provides. The cause has a national reach and one of the main motivations for us all here in Yorkshire is to show that the support LandAid gives is across the UK.

What has been the most enjoyable thing you’ve done as an Ambassador?

A few of our Ambassadors have participated in the challenges and the Race to the Sun’ still gets talked about as one of the most amazing and rewarding things they have done. Our first event here in Yorkshire, being the Ambassador Quiz in 2018, is also an event that sticks out for us.

Which fundraising idea you’ve seen someone else undertake for LandAid most impressed you?

We think anyone who undertakes the various ambassador challenges is impressive!

Why would you say other people should become LandAid Ambassadors?

It is a great way to be a part of something which brings business and individuals together from across the property industry to drive a really worthwhile cause and achieve something which will impact on many lives for many years. It is also incredibly rewarding to be able to contribute towards ending youth homelessness. It is something a lot of us will struggle to relate to, and the time you dedicate can make an important difference to the lives of those far less fortunate than ourselves.

What’s been your proudest moment/achievement as an Ambassador?

Establishing the LandAid Yorkshire Ambassador Quiz as one of the go-to events here in Leeds which has raised funds for LandAid but also, just as importantly, has increased the profile of LandAid in the north.

If you’d like to tell us about something you’ve done which you think qualifies you as our Ambassador of the Month, or you’d like to nominate another Ambassador for the accolade, then email Tom Gellatly and let him know.
