As a representative of all our fantastic Ambassadors who took part in the SleepOut series, we asked Stephen Brandsma of Gleeson Recruitment Group, who was a part of our Birmingham SleepOut, a few questions about his time so far as a LandAid Ambassador.

Why did you get involved in the LandAid Ambassador programme?

I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to get their life back on track and, for some, this opportunity doesn’t present itself. LandAid has enabled me to utilize the knowledge and resources gained in my profession and give back to the local community. I believe that homelessness is one of the consequences of some of the challenges that I have faced personally in earlier life; I want to help those who do not have access to the support that I did.

What’s been your proudest moment/achievement as an Ambassador?

During the LandAid Sleepout, I was lucky enough to be interviewed on national television by ITV News Central. I am not usually someone who enjoys presentations, and certainly not the type of person to voluntarily be on camera, but it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. It was a very special moment for me when I saw how excited my 6-year-old daughter got when she saw her Dad on TV.

If you’d like to tell us about something you’ve done which you think qualifies you as our Ambassador of the Month, or you’d like to nominate another Ambassador for the accolade, then email Natalie Aminoff and let her know.
