Christmas Card Alternative raises over £40,000 – its highest ever total

Thanks to the generosity of the property industry, LandAid has raised a record-breaking £40,600 from its Christmas Card Alternative 2017.

The campaign, which LandAid has run every Christmas since 2009, asks property companies to donate £1,000 to help end youth homelessness. In return, companies have their logo printed in a double-page Christmas advert in Property Week, EG and on ECN screens around London. They also receive their own personalised email signature to use when talking to their clients and contacts.

This year, 41 companies joined the Christmas Card Alternative leading to our highest ever fundraising total for the campaign.

The £40,600 total is enough to provide a safe warm home for two young people who have been homeless, as well as helping to refurbish another empty property to turn it into affordable housing for young people.

These funds are life-changing for young people like Lukas, who had no-one to turn to and ended up on the streets last winter. Thanks to New Horizon Youth Centre, a project LandAid funds, Lukas received the support he needed to become independent and is now settled happily in his own home.

Thank you to all the companies who joined our campaign:
