Get active this September with LandAid!

LandAid, the property industry charity, is calling on property professionals across the country to get involved in a series of running events, all in aid of supporting young people experiencing homelessness.

With locations spanning across England, wherever you are based there is something for everyone.

The month kicks off with the LandAid North West 10k and 5k on Thursday 14 September. Hill Dickinson and Bruntwood SciTech have joined forces to sponsor and host this event. And new for this year is their 5k option. Whether you sprint, jog, or walk, the event is open to all. For the second year running, it will take place at Alderley Park, near Macclesfield, Cheshire. All funds raised will support LandAid North West’s local charity project to create emergency accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness in the region.

Debra Cooper, Banking Partner at Hill Dickinson, and LandAid North West Board Member said: “We are thrilled to sponsor this event alongside Bruntwood SciTech and we very much hope that we are able to raise more money than ever before for the vital services the charity provides to 16 – 24 year olds. We’ve very much looking forward to seeing the North West corporate and real estate community join forces again for a great cause.”

Picking up the pace on Wednesday 20 September, Regent’s Park in London will see hundreds of property professionals taking on the LandAid 10k or 5k, sponsored by Allsop. LandAid have been running this event for over 20 years and year on year have seen considerable growth. Last year saw 940 participants running through the London park and across the country. This year, LandAid hopes to push this number to over 1,000 participants. And with an option to take on the challenge virtually, wherever you are based, you can join in the fun.

Scott Tyler, Senior Partner at Allsop, said: “Amid a cost-of-living crisis, the work that LandAid is doing on behalf of our sector is more important than ever and something we are very proud to support. The property industry’s ongoing and energetic commitment to such a worthwhile cause is a testament to the recognition of the power of the built environment – and the professionals working within it – to deliver positive social impact. Allsop is delighted once again to sponsor the LandAid 10K, to be returning to Regent’s Park in September – and to have an excellent opportunity to lace up our running shoes and get going post-summer holidays.”

The month will then wrap up with one final opportunity to tie up your laces and get active with the St Modwen Annual Charity Run on Thursday 28 September. Dubbed as the Midlands Toughest 10K, don’t miss out on the chance to join hundreds of other runners pounding the paths of Longbridge and Cofton Park for this now well-established event in the Midlands’ property calendar. All funds raised will be used to support local charity St Basils, helping fund the Live And Work Village – phase 2, in Sandwell.

Sarwjit Sambhi, CEO, St. Modwen said: “We are excited to announce details for our fifth St. Modwen Charity Run for LandAid. The event continues to go from strength to strength and last year’s race saw more than 300 people take part, raising crucial funds to support the vital work of LandAid. This year we’re hoping to go even bigger and better with the amount raised, doing as much as we can to support our friends at St. Basil’s with their groundbreaking work in Sandwell. Longbridge plays an important role in the history of St. Modwen, and we look forward to once again bringing the community together to show the runners what a fantastic place it is to live and work.”

So, what are you waiting for? Get signed up, get outside, and get active today, to support young people who have nowhere else to turn in your local community.
