The LandAid COVID-19 Emergency Fund, launched on 7 April 2020, has given out its first grants to frontline charities. LandAid, the property industry charity, distributed over £100,000 to 12 charities in this first round of funding.
The fund has now raised over £500,000 thanks to donations from partners including Allsop, CLS Holdings, Grosvenor Estates, Helical, Knight Frank, Landsec, Logicor, M&G plc., and Savills plc.. With thanks to Mark Ridley, Group CEO of Savills plc. who also made a personal contribution to the campaign.
The money has been distributed to LandAid charity partners including: the Albert Kennedy Trust, YMCA Dulverton Group and the Benjamin Foundation. LandAid will continue to distribute funds on a weekly basis.
The grants are for a variety of emergency needs including providing temporary accommodation, food, mental health support, equipping charities to work remotely and PPE.
