Last night, 150 LandAid supporters were treated to an outdoor film screening of the cult classic Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels at the foot of the iconic Battersea Power Station.
The Power Station, soon to enter its next phase of redevelopment, has been teaming up with Everyman Cinema to run a pop-up movie theatre and street food festival during the summer months. LandAid was delighted to be a part of the action, chosen by Battersea as the beneficiary cause for Monday night’s special screening. Tickets to this unique event had been snapped up in an instant by LandAid supporters, eager to see the old building on its last hurrah whilst also supporting the property industry charity.
Against the backdrop of the Power Station’s mighty chimneys, movie-goers lazed on beanbags and soaked up the last of the sun whilst tucking into gourmet street food courtesy of London pop-ups Le Bun and Dogtown. Guy Ritchie’s classic crime comedy Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was a unanimous hit, keeping the crowd entertained with a stellar soundtrack and a host of memorable one-liners.
LandAid was joined by guests from several of our partner companies including John Robertson Architects, RICS, Gerald Eve, McLaren, Sir Robert McAlpine, Helical Bar and Quintain.
