LandAid’s fourth Steptober event sees record number of property professionals put their steps to good use.

LandAid’s, the property industry charity, Steptober challenge saw 1,264 participants take more than 166 million steps over the last two weeks raising over £117,000 to end youth homelessness.

The real estate industry-wide challenge was powered by headline sponsor Logicor and regional sponsors Pinsent Masons and Stride Treglown.

Steptober was capped off with a virtual prize giving event on Friday 15 October.

Prizes included: Team with the Highest Step Count Award which was won by TFT’s One Step Beyond’ team who took a staggering 1.69million steps together. They were closely followed by Faithful+Gould’s North -West’ team and Pinsent Masons The Must Beat Tom Johnson Team’ in second and third place, respectively.

Jacqui Allen of TFT also won the award for Top Stepping Individual taking 552,596 steps – an average of 39,000 steps a day.

The challenge also saw team Steptoeber & Sons’ take the award for Top Fundraising Team, having raised a spectacular £8,224 for LandAid. The Top Individual Fundraiser also went to Courtney Huggins, who raised £1,109 to end youth homelessness.

Paul Morrish, Chief Executive, LandAid said: ‘We hope that through taking part in Steptober, participants have felt a difference in their mental health and wellbeing, and closer to their colleagues, despite not always seeing them regularly. But of course, Steptober is about so much more than that – every stepper has raised valuable funds to help young homeless people across the country, young people who are at risk of homelessness – so thank you.’

Michael Slattery, CEO, Logicor: ‘Logicor has been proud to be the headline sponsor for this year’s Steptober event and support LandAid with its mission to end youth homelessness in the UK. We may be in many different locations, but I believe Steptober has brought people together under a common goal and supported individual wellbeing whilst helping others. We’re so pleased that the event has raised over £117,000 – every penny of which will help young homeless people. Thanks to everyone who has stepped up for LandAid – you’ve positively impacted lives and local communities.”

As Steptober comes to a close, LandAid is focused on supporting young people through this winter and beyond.

This Giving Tuesday and LandAid Day, on Tuesday 30 November, we’re asking companies to organise a fundraising event for us within their company, under the theme of Feeling Lucky?’

We’re lucky enough to have somewhere safe, secure, and warm to live. 121,000 young people in the UK aren’t as lucky, from sofa surfing to rough sleeping. Of course, this isn’t totally down to luck, but it plays its part.

This LandAid Day, organise a luck themed fundraising event within your company so we can help support young homeless people this winter and beyond.

Please register your interest to host your own luck themed event.
