After a summer of crunching numbers, drawing charts and reviewing our progress, LandAid can now proudly announce the launch of its 2014/15 Impact Report. The report, available as a downloadable infographic poster kindly designed by Cushman and Wakefield, provides examples of our successes in each area of our work.
Here are just a few highlights:
We awarded £1,260,924 in grants, the highest amount we’ve ever given in a year. That funding enabled 22 inspiring local charities to improve and expand their buildings and as a result, help thousands more young people in need of support.
1,171 young people gained qualifications and 26 accessed accommodation in 2014/15 as a result of completed LandAid projects. In total 6,767 young people were supported thanks to our funding.
At our Summer Party in July, we unveiled our Pro Bono Programme, with the aim of harnessing the expertise of the industry in order to further help charities with their property issues. 16 generous property companies lent their time and skills to a charity in need, saving those organisations a phenomenal £1.2 million.
In fundraising, our number of corporate and industry partners continued to grow. By March 2015, 110 companies and organisations from across the property sector were part of our strong network.
The launch of our Ambassadors Programme in October 2014 brought rising stars of the industry together to raise funds and awareness for LandAid. In just five months, 123 enthusiastic professionals had signed up to champion LandAid in their businesses.
Also in October came LandAid Day, the industry’s fundraising extravaganza, which brought in a whopping £115,227 for disadvantaged young people and helped take our total income from four flagship events to £332,228.
Elsewhere personal challenges were faced and conquered. Hundreds of daredevils abseiled the Broadgate Tower, 500 runners paced the paths of Regents Park, property skiiers took to the mountains and those who’d overindulged at Christmas tackled a Slimathon.
Our communications team also had a busy year, launching a new brand and website and securing more advertising and press coverage than ever before.
We also welcomed a new Chief Executive, Paul Morrish, a new Chairman, Liz Peace, and several new committee members.
LandAid’s income at the end of 2014/15 stood at £1.7 million. That’s a great amount of money. That’s thousands of young people who now have a safe place to live, a stable support network, the qualifications to succeed and the skills to move into work.

For us it means two things – that we’re benefitting from more companies’ and their employees’ generosity, and that we’re able to reach more young people or to have a more lasting impact on their lives. We’re delighted by the news of growth in both our income and impact, and we’re grateful for all the support we receive. My only disappointment is that the need for our work is also growing, and intensifying.
