Falcon Support Services is a Leicestershire charity that has been helping those experiencing homelessness and those in need find independence through housing and community support for over 20 years.
They provide supported accommodation and run community projects with the aim of assisting vulnerable people to improve their wellbeing, gain new skills and transition to independence.
The Falcon Centre, a grade II listed building located in Loughborough town centre, is owned by the charity and is integral to their key services. The three-storey property provides accommodation, communal living space, and hosts a drop-in day centre (together with a community kitchen).
The charity needed a condition survey of their main property located in Loughborough town centre, along with a schedule of necessary repairs and maintenance that they could use to plan and prioritise future expenditure. Cushman & Wakefield responded to the request and four members of staff spent 98 hours on the work.
Richard Nock, an Associate Director at C&W at the time (now Director at Colliers), said: ‘We were very happy to assist Falcon Support Services and they were a pleasure to work with. The information provided will now allow Falcon to maintain and manage their building proactively, whilst allowing them to understand costs for on-going maintenance.‘
Rachel Hall, Deputy CEO at Falcon Support Services, said: ‘Having a 10 year forward maintenance plan created for our largest property has provided us with the tools to help us upgrade our systems, and allows our charity to manage the building and our budget in a more proactive and efficient way. Without the assistance to create the plan created, it would have meant an awful lot of time and money for our Property Manager that can be better spent on supporting our service users.’
