LandAid has been in Cannes this week, where we launched the Reboot Run sponsored by DTZ at MIPIM 2014, the international real estate show.
At 7am on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 March, conference goers and LandAid supporters joined LandAid Chief Executive Joanna Averley and donned their lycra to participate in the 5km short course westward on Wednesday and eastward on Thursday from the DTZ Boat, the Bettina.
The two days saw over 40 runners participate, including the editors of Estates Gazette and Property Week, and a number of our partners and other supporters.
Given the boozy reputation of the industry’s annual shindig in Cannes, we were delighted at the amazing attendance, which brought LandAid to the attention of a global property audience and generated considerable Twitter traffic over the two days.
Joanna Averley, Chief Executive of LandAid, said: “There was simply no better way to counteract an intense week of eating canapés, sipping champagne and sampling the Cannes nightlife than by entering the LandAid Reboot Run.
“We’ve had tremendous support for the event this week, helping us raise awareness of the difficulties that disadvantaged young people face in the UK. A huge thanks to our sponsors DTZ, and everyone who joined us over the two days – we very much hope to be back next year.”
Colin Wilson, Head of UK & Ireland of DTZ, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the LandAid run at MIPIM to help raise the profile of this great charity and encourage everyone to take part in a healthy activity to kick start their day, in what is an intensive week of breakfast, lunch and dinner meetings. We are hoping to help LandAid raise a significant amount for charity, so please be generous.”
