Tattoo Artists Against Homelessness: Charity exhibition and auction brings tattoo art from around the world to Coal Drops Yard

An exhibition with a difference comes to London’s King’s Cross this winter, with a showcase of tattoo art from around the world raising money to support young people experiencing homelessness across the UK.

  • Exhibition open from 18 November – 27 November 2022 – FREE TO ATTEND
  • Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, London N1C 4DQ
  • Online auction live until Thursday 1 December – https://app.galabid, com/taah/items

A collaboration between Sacred Gold Tattoo, a tattoo artist collective based out of Coal Drops Yard, and renowned artist Joao Bosco, the exhibition will bring together some of the finest tattoo art from across the globe for two weeks at the end of November.

The exhibition, hosted by the team of developers behind the King’s Cross neighbourhood, will culminate in an online auction to raise vital funds for LandAid, the property industry charity with a mission to end youth homelessness.

Thirty international artists have donated unique and original artwork to the Tattoo Artists Against Homelessness exhibition, which is being curated by Zoë Allen from Artistic Statements, all of which will be available to buy via auction, or will be available in limited edition print throughout the two weeks.

Alice Lamb, Deputy CEO at LandAid said: ‘Over 122,000 people aged 16-24 approached their local authority as homeless or at risk of homelessness last year. And this number is growing. In London alone, the numbers of people young and old sleeping rough has risen by nearly a quarter.

‘We are hugely grateful to everyone at Sacred Gold Tattoo, Joao, Zo√´ and the team at King’s Cross who are kindly hosting the event, for helping to raise awareness of this issue and support our work.’

Joao Bosco, one of the artists leading the exhibition said: ‘I feel fortunate and excited to contribute and work on this project. To help the community is to help our own environment and future. To raise awareness and funds for the work developed by LandAid is a chance to be part of something greater. I’m looking forward to this collaboration and I can feel it will be the first of many more to come.’

Zo√´ Allen, Founder of Artistic Statements said: ‘Uniting global talent to showcase and celebrate this unique form of artistic expression, whilst also raising valuable funds for a very worthwhile cause – this has been such a refreshing and heartwarming project to work on. The brainchild of Joao, it’s been a pleasure working with such a talented artist who’s as passionate about his own craft as he is about supporting others creatives – and crucially, those in need.

‘With Christmas fast approaching, it’s a timely reminder that we all need to give back someway, somehow. Thank you Joao for spreading good vibes!’

Tattoo Artists Against Homelessness is free to attend and will be open from 18 November – 27 November in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross.
