Tim Henman explains why he’s fundraising for LandAid at this year’s MIPIM Tennis Classic

Wimbledon legend Tim Henman is delighted to be raising funds for LandAid at the MIPIM Tennis Classic in Cannes this March.

The former British No.1, who famously reached the semi-finals at the All England Club on four separate occasions, will be supporting the event in Cannes for the first time. Henman will be on hand throughout the charity doubles tournament, with the event organisers determined to smash 2018’s record fundraising total of £36,527.

This year, the money will be split between four great causes: LandAid, The Tim Henman Foundation, Bright Ideas for Tennis and the Cannes Community Fund.

‘I’m delighted to be supporting the 2019 MIPIM Tennis Classic,’ said Henman. ‘It’s an event that’s been growing fast over the past few years, raising lots of money in the process. I’m hoping we can continue to build on that success this time around.

‘These types of event are a great way of getting together to enjoy a few hours of tennis, while trying to help change the lives of those less fortunate.

‘There are some fun, new additions planned for the day, including the chance to win a one-to-one coaching session with me. I’m really looking forward to getting down to Cannes and raising as much money as possible for our chosen charities. It should be a fantastic day.’

There are two exclusive one-on-one coaching sessions with Henman available to the highest bidder before the tournament kicks-off, and also a chance to take on Tim in three quick-fire tie-break matches.

And Henman won’t be the only new addition this year ≠- television presenter Dan Lobb, the former host of Daybreak and GMTV, will be compere on the day.

On top of that, all competitors will be able to enjoy an added professional touch, with tennis giants Head providing the balls and rackets for every player.

With so many improvements to an already fantastic competition, it really does promise to be an unmissable event for anyone attending MIPIM.
