What to expect at the LandAid 10K

This year’s LandAid 10K is our first in-person running event in over three years. As you can imagine, we’re all getting a *bit* excited here at LandAid, and can’t wait to see you at Regent’s Park!

Before the run

We’ll be opening registration at the charity village (near to the Hub at the north end of the park – look for our flags or one of our stewards if you’re not sure where!) from 4pm.

When you arrive, we’ll check you in, and you’ll receive your race day pack containing your running number and bag drop label, running chip and your token for the bar (to be used *after* you’ve completed your run!). There’ll be a place to leave your bike if you’re super-fit and cycling as well as running!

During the run

From 5pm we’ll start calling you all to the start line for the group warm up and welcome, and at 5.15pm our 15K runners will be the first to get going. The 10K waves will start running from 5.30pm, with the 5K setting off at 5.45pm. You’ll all be completing the same, officially-measured 5K loop – those of you taking on the 10K run will need to complete it twice and those taking on the 15K will need to complete 3 loops.

Along the route your friends, families and colleagues will be cheering you on, and there’ll be a water station manned by our team and volunteers – we’re only providing cups of water to keep waste at a minimum, so please don’t forget to bring your own reusable bottle to carry with you while you run.

After the run

When you cross the finish line we’ll take your running chip from you – don’t run away with yours or your official time won’t be recorded! You’ll also receive your sustainbably-made medal), and there’ll be bananas and snacks. For tired legs, sports massages will be available (for a small donation) and then you can head over to the bar to claim your free drink. There will also be food available to purchase from Benugo.

Our charity village will be open, the perfect place to network, find out more about LandAid, our pro-bono work and Ambassador programme, and also a chance to meet with One YMCA, who have recently received a grant of over £100,000 from LandAid – funded by property professionals like you!

From around 7.15pm it’s time to announce the winners! 11 trophies are available this year – male and female categories in every distance, fastest CEO in the 10K, as well as the Fastest 10K team (don’t forget to register for this in advance here) and the Fun Runners Trophy.

We’ll also be awarding the most important trophies of the night – Top Individual Fundraiser, and Top Fundraising Team, so don’t forget to keep sharing your fundraising pages and playing the Guess My Time game! The more money you raise, the more young people who are facing homelessness we can help.

The event ends at 8pm, and while LandAid’s Events Team will be staying in the park to pack up and ensure we leave no trace’, the rest of the LandAid team would love you to join them at The Volunteer Pub (245 Baker Street) for some more drinks and networking, and to celebrate a successful evening of running and fundraising to end youth homelessness!

Let’s all just keep our fingers crossed that this lovely weather sticks around for a perfect night in the park!
