City YMCA London – COVID-19 Emergency Fund

City YMCA London helps homeless and vulnerable young people build a future including the provision of accommodation to young people who have experienced homelessness. It supports young people who are homeless and vulnerable in London and in turn their families and the local community.

Cost of the project

£10,000

Location

London, UK

The 87 young people City YMCA London supports are extremely vulnerable. As a result of COVID-19, staff at City YMCA London were not able to put a hand on their shoulder like they are normally able to. They were having to support their young people at a distance, at a time where they are most nervous and afraid.

LandAid’s £10,000 grant provided technology such as Zoom to ensure its young people remain supported. These funds also allowed City YMCA London to undertake a deep anti-bacterial clean once a month, which helped reduce the spread of the virus.
