Groundwork Greater Manchester

Groundwork refurbishes long-term empty properties, providing construction training and volunteering opportunities for local unemployed people.

Cost of the project

£48,000

Location

Manchester, UK

LandAid awarded a grant of £48,000 to help Groundwork renovate and convert two empty houses into two two-bed flats for young care leavers, who are at great risk of homelessness.

The project will provide safe, secure and affordable accommodation for four young care leavers. It will also offer a range of support to the young tenants to help them live independently. Support will include financial assistance to encourage progress into education or training and practical support such as registering for a GP.
