ROCSolid

ROCSOLID provide both 24-hour supported accommodation and floating support in semi-independent housing for vulnerable young people. Their professional support workers help young people access employment, education and training, and support young families to gain independence and learn parenting skills.

Cost of the project

£13,500

Location

Durham, UK

LandAid’s £13,500 grant will enable the charity to renovate and convert a three-bedroom house into a one-bed flat and two-bed flat to create three bed spaces for young people who are ready to leave 24-hour supported accommodation.

The support workers will also teach the young residents independent living skills: cooking, budgeting, personal care and healthy lifestyles, support to attend meetings and appointments, emotional support, where necessary, and outings and activities to build confidence and social skills.
