Southend YMCA

Southend YMCA is a local grass roots charity, seeking to meet the needs and aspirations of disadvantaged children and young people. They have been providing support to nearly 1,000 young people for over 20 years.

LandAid’s £75,000 grant funded the creation of two new emergency beds by renovating an existing office and staff kitchen. The bathrooms of 12 existing studio flats will also be upgraded.

Young people were involved in the construction alongside the builders and a local college provided free construction training, enabling all young people from the area to acquire a valuable skill.
