Staying Put- Move On Grant

We are a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity working across the Bradford area. We support women, men and children who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Cost of the project

£27,000

Location

Bradford, UK

The grant will be used to help clients aged 18-26 to move on from our refuges into accommodation of their own. Each client will have access to a maximum of £1500, which Can be used to pay 50% of a bond, or their first month’s rent, or used to purchase essential furniture for their new property.

“Staying Put have a number of young people coming through refuges and dispersed housing who simply do not have the finances to enable them to move to their own property very easily.” States Any Ellis, Business Development Officer. “This money will empower them to not only move into their own property but offers them some security too.”

We know that people experiencing domestic abuse heal quicker from the trauma if they can continue living in their own home with their support networks around them. Our service works to keep victims in their homes- hence our name Staying Put.
