Whitehaven Community Trust

Whitehaven Community Trust tackles homelessness and poverty and works to improve young people’s health and wellbeing. The charity provides supported accommodation for vulnerable young people and runs projects to benefit them and the community as a whole.

Cost of the project

£27,840

Location

Cumbria, UK

LandAid’s £27,840 grant is enabling the charity to renovate 11 bedrooms in an existing hostel for young homeless people, and create a further bedroom and bathroom, alongside other necessary refurbishment work.

The project will support vulnerable young people with complex needs, to enable them to move on into permanent, stable accommodation. They will also gain the skills and knowledge required to help them live independently and successfully manage their own tenancy.
